From the moment I stepped off the plane, I already started to grasp what my experience would be like in Singapore. Being an island city in South-East Asia, I got the feeling that I was entering a tiny city in a Garden. I have a huge appreciation for Singapore as the rumours are very much true, it is a safe and clean city and is actively environmentally friendly.

My Complete Guide to Visiting Gardens By the Bay:
If you are staying at the famous Marina Bay Sands, you can actually access Gardens by the Bay easily via a walkway connected from the hotel to the gardens.
For $8 SGD you can take the lift inside one of the Super Trees 22m up to the suspended walkway. Enjoy a leisurely stroll along the Skyway taking in the view of the city and surrounding gardens and Super Trees.
Be sure to come back at night-time also for an amazing spectacle show of light and sound! (Every evening at 7.45pm and 8.45 pm)
Cloud Forest
Your visit to Gardens by the Bay would not be complete without checking out Cloud Forest, located around 5 min walk from Gardens by the Bay. Now, I actually didn’t realise this at first but I have to mention how incredible the Cloud Forest has been mapped out as an educational journey with not only a lot of interesting and variety of species of plant life but also the encouragement to build towards a more environmentally friendly planet. The Cloud Forest is a 35-metre tall mountain, covered in lush vegetation and boasting the world’s tallest indoor waterfall.
Bonus– it is like walking into a refrigerator which is a nice welcome in the hot and humid Singapore climate.
At the end of the walkthrough just before we exited is a very touching and emotional display of videos and images on world pollution and the affects it has on the planets environment. It has honestly made me so much more aware, inspired and motivated to be more actively conscious in saving the environment.
A ticket to visit 2 of the “Cooled Conservatories” cost $28SGD.
Flower Dome
Right next door to Cloud Forest is the Flower Dome. Inside is a enormous array of many different species of plant life. The Dome is cleverly mapped out with different sectors, ie; Australia, South America, Japan etc.
The flower field changes on occasion to reflect the season and any ongoing festivals. Inside the Flower Dome, the temperature is kept constantly between 23ºC and 25ºC. Plus the humidity is regulated at around 60% – 80% in order for the plants to flourish.
Listed as the largest glass greenhouse in the world in the 2015 Guinness World Records, the Flower Dome at Gardens By The Bay covers over 1.2 hectares of ground.
Visiting these 3 attractions definitely takes up a good portion of your day. There is a lot of walking involved so it is recommended to only plan visiting these areas for the day and resting in the afternoon before returning in the evening for the spectacular light show in the Supertree Grove.
