Conservatory, Crown Melbourne

There’s nothing like a little weekend getaway to explore some of the beautiful cities of Australia. Quite often we forget from the hustle and bustle of our lives that there is places to escape to right in our own home country. A born and raised Sydney-sider, I have visited more cities overseas than I have in my own home country and decided it was time to explore the coastal capital of the southeastern state of Victoria; Melbourne. There was no better way to do this than staying at Crown Melbourne.

Checking in to Crown Melbourne

In a very lucky circumstance we were upgraded to Crown Towers from our original booking at the Crown Promenade. Although the Crown Promenade looked very beautiful inside, I honestly don’t think there’s a place that beats the glitz and glamour of the Crown Towers.

Great Tours in Melbourne:

As you can see from the room photos, pure luxury and beautiful interior decorating with utter most comfort is the ultimate top priority at Crown Melbourne. Sleeping on these beds is like sleeping on top of a cloud. Their bathrobes are soft and fluffy and the views of the city at night are dazzling. Not to mention the amazing grand doors that take you into the glamorous bathrooms. Our bath even had a TV in the wall!

The bathrooms inside the rooms at Crown Towers

Crown Melbourne is located in the centre of Southbank. It’s ideal location means you have various options to sightsee in close proximity around you as well as quick access to Melbourne’s public transports. It’s also close to Eureka Skydeck– Melbourne’s tallest building and a short stroll over to the heart of Melbourne’s street art lanes.

Breakfast at the Conservatory

Inside Crown Melbourne is the Conservatory- conveniently located right next door to the Crown’s Spa. This is one of the most beautiful restaurants I have eaten at. The interior design is impressive and makes you feel like you have just stepped in to a palace with high ceilings and beautiful marble pillars. The spread is upper class and unlike most buffets the food was fresh, warm and yummy and the vibrant colours popped against the neutral colours of the room. This restaurant is a great start to your day of exploring the city of Melbourne or travelling outside to the Great Ocean Rd or Yarra Valley.

Here are my top 10 recommendations of things to do in Melbourne:

1. Take a wine tour through the Yarra Valley– highly recommend Yarra Valley A2B who offer a private and personalised service.

2. Visit the 12 Apostles

3. Visit Crown Melbourne– even if you can’t stay here it’s still worth the visit. The architecture alone will keep your eyes peeled upwards and there is a lot of things you can do here as the place offers many shops, restaurants and bars as well as the famous Casino

4. Take a road trip down Great Ocean Rd and stop into some of the beautiful little towns along the way

5. Enjoy the views of Melbourne atop of Eureka Skydeck

6. Check out the Street Art LanesHosier Lane, Rutledge Lane, ACDC Lane, Flinders Lane and Duckboard Place come highly recommended. They are all interconnected making it easy to navigate around the streets within a short distance.

7. Be an ultimate foodie at the Queen Victoria Market

8. Shop at Bourke St Mall

9. Stroll along St Kilda Pier

10. Take a selfie in front of the Brighton bathing boxes

  1. The Conservatory looks gorgeous! I’ve walked by the Crown so many times but have never actually been inside, strangely! Will have to check it out properly next time I’m in town.
