WHAT IS PARONELLA PARK?
Paronella Park is a heritage-listed park built in the 1930s by Spanish immigrant José Paronella, who dreamed of creating his own castle in the rainforest.
What remains today are the romantic ruins of that dream — a grand staircase, a ballroom, hidden tunnels, and stone structures slowly reclaimed by nature after years of floods and cyclones.
It’s not a perfectly preserved castle — and that’s exactly what makes it feel so unique.
