Souk Madinat, Dubai

Dubai is a city that almost seems to have risen out of nowhere in a relatively short amount of time and now stands as a popular destination due to its huge mix of malls, architecture, immense skyscrapers and (perhaps lesser focused on) historical sites. There’s honestly a heap of places to see in Dubai, which is great if you’re doing a stopover you can extend over 2 or 3 days or even longer.

Epic Places to See in Dubai

Dubai has essentially been built for you to have the kind of fun you want. Whatever you’re looking for, Dubai’s probably got it; even the opportunity to ski with 40c heat outside.

Long story short, Dubai is modern, shiny and vibrant if you’re into an indulgent city break.

With that in mind, let’s take a look at some of the best places to see in Dubai on your next trip!

1. Burj Khalifa

The 828-metre (2,717 ft) tall Burj Khalifa in Dubai has been the tallest building since 2010.The architecture of this building is a true feat of engineering. The observation deck on the 124th floor is an absolute must and provides you with unrivalled views of the city. Plus, the surrounding gardens are an absolute delight to walk through.

Honestly, you can even see the building when you’re landing into Dubai. It’s huge and totally stands out on the skyline of Dubai. There are also loads of shops and spas around and within the Burj Khalifa, too. You can easily spend a whole day here.

Spanning over 96,000 square feet, and one of the largest shopping malls in the UAE, the Dubai Mall offers a unique and unparalleled shopping experience where luxury and contemporary style meet. Within this vast purpose-built mall is a multitude of designer shops, arcades, restaurants and even an ice-skating rink and a cinema complex. If you are looking for a touch of retail therapy, there is no better place to visit in all of Dubai. Honestly, if you want to go shopping then you’ll easily find this one of the best places to see in Dubai.

Burj Al Arab, Dubai

3. Burj Al Arab

Burj Al Arab is undoubtably one of the most famous landmarks and tourist sites in Dubai, its sailboat-shaped silhouette emerging from the sea.

The hotel, which opened in 1999, declared itself the world’s first seven-star hotel — even though that rating technically doesn’t exist. Why not make up a rating? It’s excellent PR! The Burj al Arab is over-the-top in every way possible.

Situated on its own man-made island, this hotel is an absolute icon! Plus, it’s one of the places to see in Dubai you have to see.

Atlantis, The Palm, Dubai

4. Atlantis, The Palm

Located on Dubai’s Palm Jumeirah Island and enjoys a private sandy beach, the huge 5-star Atlantis is a magnificent place to see in Dubai, offering stunning views of the Arabian Gulf. This resort has1,544 ocean-themed rooms and even a waterpark! Atlantis also offers free attractions such as Aquaventure Beach, The Lost Chambers Aquarium and Dolphin Bay.

Even just standing in front of the big pink structure is worth it itself to see!

5. Souk Madinat

Combining the charm of tradition with modern allure, Souk Madinat Jumeirah emerges as a vibrant shopping and dining hub nestled beside the iconic Burj Al Arab. A popular marketplace in Dubai with breathtaking sights, souvenirs and cafes. It is interconnected with magnificent, crystalline turquoise-blue waterways, which you can experience by taking one of the boat tours.

Souk Madinat is a sight to see and one of the most beautiful places to see in Dubai!

Jumeirah Mosque, Dubai

6. Jumeirah Mosque

As the only mosque in Dubai that’s open to non-Muslim visitors, the Jumeirah Mosque is popular with a range of travelers—it’s also the most photographed. Visitors are allowed in six days a week, Saturday through Thursday, but must take a guided tour, offered at 10 a.m. Tickets are $5.45 USD.

Two immense Minarets crown the mosque and the whole building is covered in a fantastic cream stone facade; an absolutely stunning place to visit in Dubai.

For me, it’s a one of the best places to see in Dubai if you want to explore more of the region’s culture. After all, there’s no point going to Dubai and just focusing on the shiny malls.

7. Palm Jumeirah

Possibly the most well-known man-made creation in the whole of Dubai. Palm Island is a series of islands that stretch out from the coast and form a large palm tree leaf in the water.

The tree-shaped Palm Jumeirah island is known for flashy hotels, upper class apartment towers and upscale global restaurants. Food trucks offering snacks like shawarma dot the Palm Jumeirah Boardwalk, popular for its views of the Dubai coastline and the sail-shaped Burj Al Arab hotel. Beach clubs with spas and infinity pools turn into vibrant nightclubs with live DJs in the evening.

The Dubai Miracle Garden is a flower garden located in the district of Dubailand, Dubai, United Arab Emirates. The garden was launched on Valentine’s Day in 2013. It occupies over 72,000 square metres, making it the world’s largest natural flower garden, featuring over 50 million flowers and 250 million plants.

The world’s largest natural flower haven makes it a must-visit attraction of places to see in Dubai!

11. Camel Desert Safari

A Camel Desert Safari in my opinion is one of the most amazing incredible places to see in Dubai. Going into the desert was the highlight of my trip in Dubai and my most memorable experience to date.

Tours into the Dubai desert can include an array of activities, including: Dune Bashing, Camel Ride, Henna Painting, Belly dance, Tanoura and Falcon shows, Shisha and BBQ Dinner of course depending on the tour you select.
